we SHOULD judge

 We read these verses in the One Year Bible today:

1 Samuel 12:1-13:23
John 7:1-30
Psalm 108:1-13
Proverbs 15:4 

In John, we see Jesus correct a false idea that is prevalent today. Many or even MOST people today think that it's wrong to judge. They quote Jesus when He said "Judge not lest ye be judged." They forget other verses where He actually tells us TO judge - and to judge correctly.

Now, judging doesn't mean looking down your nose at people and hoping they go to hell. It means saying "These actions that you're doing are wrong," and thereby helping that person to walk away from sin and be saved.

So let's learn to judge correctly! And do it in love.

God, thanks for teaching us that we should judge people - and love them by doing it.
