Today in the One Year Bible we read these verses:
1 Samuel 15:1-16:23
John 8:1-20
Psalm 110:1-7
Proverbs 15:8-10
In John, a woman caught in adultery is brought before Jesus. The crowd wants to stone her. Jesus says that whoever is sin-free can throw the first stone. They all leave, because they all know they're sinners.
The only one left is Jesus, and He CAN throw the first stone. But He says instead, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."
Jesus didn't come to condemn us. We are already condemned. He came to save us from the sorry condition that we're in.
Accept His forgiveness, and go and sin no more. If you do sin, He will forgive you again. He wouldn't tell us to forgive each other seventy times seven times if He weren't willing to do at least that.
God, thanks for freeing us from our sins.
