Today we read these verses in the One Year Bible:
Nahum 1:1-3:19
Revelation 8:1-13
Psalm 136:1-26
Proverbs 30:7-9
Let's look at Nahum. Nahum is telling the people to whom he's prophesying that they'd better straighten up because God will punish the guilty. And that's actually something we have to look forward to. The people in this world who seem to get away with murder - they won't get away with it. Even if they die and no one ever figures out what they did - God knows. And they will face the consequences of their actions.
Let's pray for mercy in their judgments. Why? Because we need that same mercy in our lives, too.
God, thanks for justice - and mercy.
