let's go to church: One Year Bible Reading for December 3

Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Daniel 11:2-35
1 John 3:7-24
Psalm 122:1-9
Proverbs 29:1

Let's look at the Psalm. David says, "I rejoiced with those who said to me, let's go to the house of the Lord."

Going to church is so good for you. That's why the Bible literally tells us that we need to make sure we don't stop going. It reminds you what is important. It helps you find "north" in a world gone mad. It reminds you that loving people is more important than getting stuff. And YOU going to church encourages other people to do the same thing (exactly what David is saying in the verse).

Maybe you go to church every week! I encourage you to go every day if you can! Daily mass is amazing. I enjoy daily mass during the week FAR MORE than Sunday mass. The people at Sunday mass sometimes seem like they're there because they have to be. The people at daily mass seem like they're there because they WANT to be. It's a different vibe, and it's awesome.

Maybe you haven't been to church in a long time. Jesus is waiting for you. The Bible says that where two or more are gathered, He's there in their midst. And of course He's waiting in a form of the Eucharist for you to come and receive Him. So come back! We miss you!

God, thanks for giving us churches to go to - draw us back to You.
