enough: One Year Bible Reading for December 20

 Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Haggai 1:1-2:23
Revelation 11:1-19
Psalm 139:1-24
Proverbs 30:15-16 

Let's look at the proverb. It says that there are four things that never say, "enough!": the grave, a barren womb, the land (never has enough water), and fire. These four things continue consuming until there's nothing left.

Let's learn a lesson from these four teachers. Let's not be like them, never having "enough". Let's be satisfied with what God has given us. Especially this time of year, let's be thankful for all of the blessings God has given us, all the years God has allowed us to live, all the happiness He has provided us, and not keep grasping for more like the grave and the fire.

God, thanks for teaching us to be satisfied with what You give us.
