every day is holy : One Year Bible Reading for November 23

Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Ezekiel 45:13-46:24
1 Peter 1:13-2:10
Psalm 119:33-48
Proverbs 28:11

Let's look at Ezekiel. The prophet is dividing up the land for Israel, and he says to give part of the land to God to be used for the Temple. But, he points out, ALL of the land will be holy. The Temple will be even more holy, and then in the Temple they'll find the Holy of Holies.

That also applies to how we find God. He is everywhere. But He is more fully found in the church, where two or more of us come together in His name. And He is even MORE fully present in the Eucharist.

That's what our daily life should be like, too. He is present in all of it. But He is more fully present in our lives when we worship Him in church. So be sure to make time each week for mass. Go daily if you can. And remember that He is present on all of the other days of your life, too.

God, thanks for making every day holy - and some days even holier.
