bad rulers: One Year Bible Reading for November 26

Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Daniel 2:24-3:30
1 Peter 4:7-5:14
Psalm 119:81-96
Proverbs 28:15-16

Let's look at the proverb. It says that bad rulers are like roaring lions or charging bears over helpless people. And as we look around the world today, I think we can spot some bad rulers. What do we do about that?

Well, first we should pray for them. For wisdom, and that God will direct them to make good laws and lead people in a good direction. We should also pray that good people will replace them. And we should vote for those good people so that we can try to make the world a better place.

But we should also realize that Jesus gave us good warning when He said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart: I have overcome the world."

So in this life, we'll have bad rulers, and they'll do evil things. But we don't have to worry that they'll get the last say. God has already won the battle, and everyone will face justice in the end.

Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

God, thanks for letting us know that we'll have bad leaders, and what to do about it.
