if you repent: One Year Bible Reading for October 10

 Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Jeremiah 14:11-16:15
1 Thessalonians 2:9-3:13
Psalm 80:1-19
Proverbs 25:1-5 

Let's look at Jeremiah. The prophet is saying some harsh things about the children of Israel. Like to the tune of "don't pray that they'll be healed." But God, in His amazing mercy and grace, even in the middle of this harsh prophecy holds out hope. He says, "If you repent, I will restore you."

There is that same hope for people today. Those who are trying to destroy the country and the world are on a fast track to destruction. They need our prayers, and they need His grace. IF THEY REPENT and turn away from the path that they're on, God will heal them. 

But that also applies to you and me. We've sinned, too. Even if we're trying to serve Him, we make mistakes and we fall down (alot, some of us) And if WE repent, which we should do regularly, He will heal us, too.

God, thanks for holding out hope of restoring those who are bent on destruction - and to us who are trying to follow You.
