Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:
Job 34:1-36:33
2 Corinthians 4:1-12

Proverbs 22:10-12
Let's look at 2 Corinthians. He says that the god of this age has blinded the eyes of those who are perishing so that they won't understand the gospel and be saved. That was written 2000 years ago.
Do you see the god of this age blinding people today? He's the ancient enemy, known by various names including Satan and the devil. And he's very real. It's sad that many in the entertainment industry have openly said that they've sold their souls to the devil for their riches and fame. Katy Perry said she wanted to be like Amy Grant, but that didn't work out so she "sold her soul to the devil."
Fortunately, there is a tide moving in the opposite direction! Shia Labeouf recently played Padre Pio in a film and became a Christian while studying that great saint! Eminem has been experiencing a conversion recently. Marilyn Manson and Kanye West have recently been learning more about Christianity and Kanye even put out some gospel albums.
So say a prayer. Our society is without a doubt in the middle of a huge battle. Pray for those who are in the darkness. Pray for those in the light.
Pray without ceasing.
God, thanks for reminding us that the battle is real.
