Today we read about St Augustine in the book In Caelo et in Terra. Which is super cute since we read about his mom yesterday. And I already told you quite a bit about him in yesterday's blog. But while I mentioned that he went away from the faith and then his mom's prayers brought him back, I didn't mention the WAY St Monica's prayers were answered.
See, Augustine wandered away from his faith and became a Manichean for awhile. But then he studied the Bible, and the more he read, the more he found Jesus in those pages. He found the truth written there for Him to discover, and that brought him back to the truth of his faith. Yes, his mother's prayers brought him back - but the path that he walked on his way back was through the pages of the Bible.
God is calling you to walk more closely with Him, too. He asks you to meet Him the same place that Augustine did - in the pages of the Bible.

God, thank you for the example of finding You in Scripture that we discover in this man's life. St Augustine, pray for us.
