Today we read about Saint Clotilda in the book In Caelo et in Terra. She was a queen, married to a king named Clovis. He was a pagan and she was Catholic. She raised their children Catholic, and prayed daily for her husband's conversion.
One day he faced a battle and didn't know if he would win or survive. He prayed "to the God of Clotilda" and promised Him that if he were victorious, he would be baptized. He was victorious, and he kept his word and became Catholic. Much of his kingdom followed his example and were also baptized. You can read more about St Clotilda here.
Is there anyone who would think of God as the God of [insert your name here]? On the other hand, when you pray, who exactly are you praying to? The God of whom? Sometimes I pray to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. It's interesting to think that they talked to Him in a similar way that I do.
God, thanks for the example of this faithful queen. St Clotilda, pray for us.
