St Maria Faustina Kowalska: She Simply Trusted in Jesus

Today in the book In Caelo et in Terra, we read about St Maria Faustina Kowalska. She was a simple girl who had very little education, but God called her into religious life. Once she joined the local convent, He gave her a vision of the picture you see above: white and red rays coming from His sacred heart, representing the blood and water that flowed from His heart on the cross. Under the image she was to write "Jesus, I trust in You." She worked hard during her short life, but was sick much of the time and suffered terribly, especially since many of the other sisters doubted that she was really sick. Then she died of tuberculosis when she was only 33, the same age as Jesus when He died.

Just like He did with St Therese of Liseux, and with Bernadette Soubirous, He used the simple girls of the world to turn the world upside down. Now this image can be seen all over the world. And many have come to trust in Jesus because she was faithful in sharing His vision. You can read more about her here.

So don't worry and think you don't have what it takes to do His will. He uses everyone, even little Maria Faustina Kowalska. He'll use you too, if you let Him, and He'll change the world through you.

God, thank You for the example set by this simple girl. St Maria Faustina Kowalska, pray for us.
