St Agatha: She was Bad for Business

Today in the book In Caelo et in Terra, we read about St Agatha. She was a remarkable young woman who took a vow of perpetual virginity when she was a very young girl. The people in her city didn't like that, and they sent her to a brothel, but the manager of the brothel sent her away almost immediately because all of her loud prayers were bad for business!

She was eventually tortured and killed for her faith. She is a great example of purity, bravery and steadfastness for us today. You can read more about her here.

God, thanks for this young girl who gives us a great example of purity. St Agatha, pray for us.
