Today in the book In Caelo et in Terra, we read about Blessed Maria Caridad Brader. She was born in Switzerland and was an extremely smart young lady. Her mom had big plans for her, but was shocked and dismayed when Maria chose to become a nun.
Maria spent the next 55 years in Ecuador, teaching children about Jesus. And the lives she changed she was able to take with her to heaven, unlike the riches that her mom wanted her to pursue during her lifetime.
We see the evidence of Maria's great intelligence in this decision. She realized that she needed to take Jesus's advice and invest in the things that rust can't touch and thieves can't steal. And today we remember what she did. Her legacy continues as we follow in her footsteps, learning to invest like she did. You can read more about her here.
