Today we read about St Marguerite Bourgeoys in the book In Caelo et in Terra. She is as interesting as yesterday's saint was not.
St Marguerite was invited to move to Canada from her home in France. She went, feeling that God was calling her to help make Canada a place where He could touch people's lives. She founded many institutions that helped both the settlers and the native peoples of Canada. She grew her brand new religious order to 40 members when she died at the age of 79, and that order now has over 2,600 members.
She was faithful to what God called her to do, even though it was very challenging and at times seemingly impossible. What has God called you to do? Does it seem easy? Are you being faithful to do what He says even when it's difficult?
God, thanks for giving us the wonderful example of this saint. St Marguerite Bourgeoys, pray for us.
