Saint Raymond of Penafort: Using What You've Got

Today in the book In Caelo et in Terra, we read about Saint Raymond Penafort. The n in Penafort should have an accent over it, but my keyboard doesn't offer that accent. But I'm using what I've got.

That's what St Raymond did, too. He was a lawyer by trade, and when God called him to become a Dominican, he used his skills as a lawyer to create canon law for the church. You can read more about him here.

God has given you gifts, too. He calls you to use your gifts for His kingdom. Maybe you can cook well, or perhaps you are good at singing. Whatever your gift is, God can and will use it to help others and to bring Him glory.

Even lawyers.
