his time will suddenly run out

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Daniel 11:36-12:13. God is telling Daniel what is going to happen in the coming kingdoms. And he describes a very powerful king who will basically rule the whole world. But then, God says, "his time will suddenly run out."

That's the lot of every man. We will do what we can with what we're given, and try to help people or not, and try to be happy. But then, often LONG before we're ready, our time will suddenly run out.

Those who have been investing their lives in other people will then go on to a reward where they see the results of their investments. Those who have been investing only in themselves will see their investments burn up, and they'll go into eternity with nothing.

Invest wisely.

God, thanks for reminding us that one day (soon) our time will suddenly run out.
