Today we read from Zephaniah 1:1-3:20 in the One Year Bible. Zephaniah is telling us that God is going to wipe everyone and everything off of the face of the earth, and we will all face Him eventually. He tells us that we may think that God won't do anything to us, either positive OR negative (see verse 12).
But God won't leave you alone. Usually that's a phrase of comfort, right? If you're feeling alone - remember God will never leave you. But it's also true for those who think they would RATHER be left alone. When people are feeling like pouting, they often tell everyone including God, "Just leave me alone!!" But good friends won't do that. And God is the best friend we've got.
God, thanks for not leaving us alone, even when we think that's what we want.
