what they know... and need to know

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Ezekiel 21:1-22:31. God says He is going to unsheath His sword and show the nation that He is their enemy.

In our world today, people are generally aware that what they're doing is wrong. They see Christians as people who are "judging" them, thinking they're better than the people "in the world." They KNOW that sin is real and God doesn't like sin. What they DON'T know is that God's mercy and grace are always available to them, 24/7, to bring them back home again.

So yes, it's important for us to continue pointing out that abortion, same sex marriage, sex outside of marriage, and greed are evil. We need to keep teaching the world that laziness and gluttony are still deadly sins. But more than that, we need to make sure they know about God's never ending grace and forgiveness. His mercy that is new every morning. Let's be sure to share both.
