how many times He redeems us

Today our reading from the One Year Bible doesn't pull any punches. We read from Ezekiel 23:1-49. This is the infamous passage that gets quoted by junior high kids when they try to make each other laugh about what the Bible actually says. But when we rise above the junior high humor, we find the deeper meaning (which is probably always true).

The message in this story of two prostitutes is the redeeming love of God that brings us back, time and again. In the book above, "Redeeming Love", we read about how a man who marries a prostitute keeps going and finding her and bringing her back, over and over again, until she learns to love only him.

God does that too, with me and you. He keeps bringing us back, redeeming us over and over... until we love only Him.

God, thanks for Your redeeming love.
