DIY humbling

Today we read from Daniel 4:1-37 in the One Year Bible. King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream, and Daniel tells him what it means. And what it means SHOULD have convinced the king to humble himself. Daniel implores him, "Please take my advice and turn from your sins." But the king continues being all proud of himself and his kingdom.

So God humbles him. And it's not something anyone would like. He basically lived like a cow for awhile. Very humiliating. If he had just listened to Daniel, he could have avoided it.

We have the same opportunity today. Will you listen to the message that Daniel gives you today? Humble yourself and turn from your sins? I know I need to.

God, thanks for giving us the chance to humble ourselves before you do it for us.
