Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Daniel 2:24-3:30. The king has a dream and wants to know what it means. He asks some of his wise men, and they don't know. The king reveals himself as a bad man by threatening to kill his wise men because they can't answer his question. Daniel saves their lives by offering to tell the king what his dream meant.
When Daniel comes before the king, he teaches him not only what his dreams mean, but much more. He teaches him humility by reminding the king that Daniel is not able to answer the king's question, and no other man can either. So killing his wise men was a foolish choice. Then he reminds him that "there is a God in heaven" who can do anything, including answering the king's questions. This teaches the king, if he'll listen, that the king can go to God himself and ask for help when he needs it. If only the king had ears to hear.
Today we have the same situation. We have questions, and we get mad at other people for not being able to answer them. But we, like Daniel, can go to God and ask Him. He will tell us not only the answer to the questions we have, but He'll give us even better answers to questions we don't think to ask.
God, thanks for being "a God in heaven" who can do anything.
