this is the way: I have spoken

Today in the One Year Bible, God quotes from the Mandalorian. He does this in Jeremiah 30:1-31:26.  OK, OK, maybe He doesn't quote the Mandalorian. Maybe the Mandalorian steals its line from Him. But you can see some parallels. The Mandalorian is fond of saying "this is the way," and of course we remember Jesus teaching His disciples that He IS the way. His disciples asked how they could possibly know the way to where Jesus was going, and Jesus told them in no uncertain terms, "I am the way, the Truth, and the Life."

In today's passage, God says that He will bring the people of Israel back to their land. And He concludes this statement with, "I, the LORD, have spoken!" And He means very much a similar thing to what the old character on the Mandalorian means... "I have said it, and that settles it. No more        argument, and you have my word that this will happen."

That's why we never have to be afraid when we hear new things that have truth to them. We're never going to find anything that's true that contradicts God. If it's true, it will agree with Him. All truth is God's truth.

God, thanks for teaching us that You are the way, and You have spoken.
