Today we read from one of my favorite Biblical books, Esther. We read from 4:1-7:10. This evil man named Haman has ordered that all of the Jewish people living in his kingdom must be put to death. In this case, Esther intervenes, because she thinks maybe she was put in her position "for such a time as this." Her plan works, and the Jewish people are saved. The evil man is hung on his own gallows.
Unfortunately there was no intercession from a queen in World War 2. Over six million Jewish people were put to death, and many more were tortured and forced to do back breaking work in concentration camps. If only there had been an Esther to save them.
What is happening today? Who is being killed, that need you to stand up for them? I think, if you look around, you'll figure it out. Please be like Esther, and take a stand. Help alleviate the modern holocaust.
God, thanks for calling us to take a stand to save your children. Give us the courage.
