God will fight for us

Today we read from 2 Chronicles 32:1-33:13 in the One Year Bible. We are told that God will fight for His people Israel.

And that's true today, as well. God created the church. He's not going to let it be destroyed. The enemy has been whacking hard against its walls for the last 2000 years, and it's not going anywhere. It is struggling with sex scandals and with in fighting. But it will not crumble. The church cannot be destroyed. That's something we can count on. We can trust that God will fight for us. He will uphold the church with His mighty arm. No matter how scary the world gets, we can always depend on the fact that the church will be there for us.

Let's remember to be there for the church. Let's pray for the church daily. Let's give of our resources to help the church grow. Let's give of our time and energy to help the church expand its ministries. Ask God how you can help - He'll show you.

God, thanks for giving us the church. Help us give back.
