keeping our eyes on the prize

So today in the One Year Bible, we read from 2 Chronicles 1:1-3:17. Solomon takes over for David, and he begins to build the Temple.

The Bible tells us very clearly that God was with him and made him very powerful. When we look at his later life, we see that he doesn't do a great job of staying focused on God. And can we blame him?

It's hard to keep our focus. It's so easy to get distracted, like Solomon did, when things are going well for us. It's so easy to start chasing after the things the world offers, which are mostly lies, and forget to focus on the Truth Himself, who will lead us to eternal life.

Let's keep our focus. It's a choice we make every day.

God, thanks for teaching us to focus on You.
