Today we read from 2 Samuel 18:1-19:10 in the One Year Bible. We see that David loved his son Absalom very dearly, and even though he tried to kill David on several occasions, David put his own men and his own life in danger trying to protect his son. He clearly loved him greatly, even though their relationship was far from perfect.
This gives us a glimpse of how much God loves us. Even when we're away from Him, even when we humans killed His son.... still He loved us. So when you're feeling away from Him... when you think you've sinned too badly to come home... remember how much David loved Absalom.
God thanks for teaching us a little about how much You love us.
