get ready

Today (the Saturday before Easter) we read from Joshua 3:1-4:24 in the One Year Bible. And the reading for today gives us a GREAT verse to meditate on for the day before Easter. In 3:5, we read, "Purify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do great wonders among you."

And how true that is for us here in 2020, right? We are about to experience Easter, and a much needed one as the world is struggling under the weight of the Corona virus and the havoc it has wreaked in society and the economy.

But get ready. God is about to do something amazing. We are celebrating the event that changed the world. That conquered sin and death, and overcame sickness and disease. The resurrection, the first among many millions. When Jesus turned death upside down, from the end to a new beginning.

But that's "tomorrow". Today (Saturday), we prepare.

God, thanks for getting us ready.
