Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Exodus 26:1-27:21. God tells Moses exactly how to build the temple. And from the description, you can tell that it was beautiful!
Man has been creating beautiful buildings in which to worship God ever since. Some of the most amazing architectural wonders in the world are churches, mostly dating back to the medieval times, but many having been built since then. There are many stories of people walking into a beautiful church and becoming a Christian simply from being overwhelmed by the wonder and beauty.
God created the universe, and everything in it. And then He created us. But it wasn't enough just to make us... He also put a spark of His creativity inside of us. So now WE create. In honor of Him. As a reflection of the beauty that we see around us. In imitation of the One that we worship.
God, thanks for making us sub-creators.
