God is romantic
Today in the One Year Bible, we read a very romantic story from Genesis 24:52-26:16. Abraham wants his son to marry from their own people, so he sends a servant to find Isaac a wife. The servant asks God's help in finding Isaac a wife, and before he even finishes the prayer, he sees a young woman named Rebekah from Abraham's family coming to draw water from the well where he is.
He takes her (with her permission and her parents' permission) back to his people, and she sees Isaac from a distance and falls in love. They get married and have lots of children.
God orchestrates the whole thing. He brings them together in a very romantic and beautiful story. Because He cares about us, and our hearts, and our feelings. He created them, after all. And He, of all people, knows what it's like to love someone and have that love unrequited. So He pours that love and passion into our stories, if we let Him.
God IS love. And He is perfectly kind, and patient, and tender. All of those things go together to make Him more romantic than we can imagine.
Thank You, God, for creating romance... and helping our lives to be full of it, if we will wait on Your perfect timing.
