light overcomes

Today in the One Year Bible, we read from 1 John 2:1-17. John tells us that Jesus and His love are the light that shines in the darkness. He says that the darkness is already disappearing, and the true light is shining.

That's your job, too. To shine your light into the darkness around you. There is alot of darkness today. But the light will always overcome it. We just have to shine it. Love your neighbor. Show kindness to your family. Take care of the poor. These are the ways that His light shines in the darkness around you.

God, thank You for giving us a light that can never be overcome. Help us to shine it.
