God's breath is powerful

Today we read from 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17 in the One Year Bible. Paul is telling his readers not to get alarmed about the end of the world even though people claim to know when it is. He says that when the antichrist and the beast appear, God will kill them with the breath of His mouth, and defeat them just by His presence.

That's how powerful God is. His breath created the universe. He breathed life into us, His creation. He breathed His truth into the Scriptures that He's given us. And He will defeat all of His enemies just with His breath.

So don't be afraid. His breath is your redemption.

God, thanks for being so amazing that just Your breath changes everything.
