tear off your veil
Today in the One Year Bible, we read from 2 Corinthians 3:1-18. Paul tells us that Moses gave the children of Israel the old law, and it was so glorious that he had to cover his face. How much more glorious is the new law, since the Holy Spirit enables it to bring us eternal life?
But we know that we don't live in that same "glow" that Moses had, right? Why not? Are our faces veiled? Paul tells us to remove our veils so that God's glory can shine in our lives.
How do we do that? Well, many of us have unconfessed sin in our lives. If that's you, make a good confession. That will usually soften your heart and "remove the veil". But if you aren't in that state, it might be that you've just been walking through life ignoring His voice for long enough that you don't hear it anymore. If that's the case, ask Him to soften your heart and "remove the veil" so that He can speak to you.
And then just wait and see what He does in your life.
God, thanks for speaking to us. Help us remove the veil.
