He preserves us

We are reassured of something important tonight in the reading from the One Year Bible. The selection is from Romans 10:14-11:12. Paul is talking about Israel, and he tells the Romans that God has preserved 7,000 of them, and He enabled them to withstand bowing to Baal.

Today He's preserving us, too. He strengthens us to stand against the tide of the world. He helps us to continue to be salt and light, to bring His message of love and joy to the world around us, however dark and death-bound they are intent on being.

So when you're feeling weak, remember: He'll preserve you. He'll strengthen you. He'll give you the help you need to hang on. Just ask.
