Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Acts 17:1-34. Paul goes to the synagogue and tells the Jewish people there about Jesus. Some of them believe him, and become Christians. Others are too stuck in the old way of doing things to accept this new information, and they remain Jews "waiting for the Messiah". It's not an easy message to accept, and I don't fault them for being scared. But they did miss out.
God is calling you today, too. He comes to your regular meeting place (your synagogue) and He tells you about the new things He's doing in your life. You can choose to accept this new info and have your life forever changed, or you can get stuck in the old ways of doing things, always "waiting for God to move."
What is He calling you to do today? There are plenty of needs out there. Pray about them, and see where He takes you.
God, thanks for calling us. Give us courage to follow.
