your mistake is...
Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Mark 12:18-37. The Sadducees try to trap Jesus with a trick question. And Jesus's reply doesn't only confound them and answer their question, it teaches us many things today.
He begins with a phrase that gives us plenty to think about in our lives. "Your mistake is you don't know the Scriptures," He says. And does that apply to anyone you know today? Maybe you DO spend daily time in the Bible. If so - fantastic! Keep it up!
If not, today is a GREAT day to begin doing this. It's the first day of Lent! Besides whatever you decided to give up (if you did), you could add daily Bible reading to your Lenten observation. What better way to draw closer to Jesus and get ready for the joy of Easter?
But if we take Jesus's words and apply them to our lives here, we see that His answer to the Sadducees is His answer to most of our problems in life. Why don't we have more wisdom about what to do? We don't know the Scriptures. Why can't we overcome sin? We don't know the Scriptures. Why aren't our lives full of joy and peace? You guessed it - because we don't know the Scriptures.
Consider spending some time in the Bible today. And tomorrow... all the way to Easter.
You might just get in the habit.
God, thanks for giving us the Bible, which helps us answer all of life's questions. Please help us spend time in it.

Awesome. “Why don't we have more wisdom about what to do? We don't know the Scriptures. Why can't we overcome sin? We don't know the Scriptures. Why aren't our lives full of joy and peace? You guessed it - because we don't know the Scriptures.”
Right.
No Jesus=No peace. Know Jesus=Know peace.
😊 Good blog.
