Today in the One Year Bible, we read about the institution of the Eucharist in Matthew 26:14-46. If you listen to THIS, you'll hear some profound truth about the Eucharist that I never heard most of my life, but only found a couple years ago. It ties everything together and takes us deeply into the meaning behind Jesus's sacrifice on the cross. It also makes sense of why we receive the Eucharist today. It's definitely worth listening to.
Jesus tells us throughout His three year ministry that remaining in Him, and He in us, brings us to eternal life. And that receiving the Eucharist is the way that that eternal life comes to us. See John chapter 6 for details.
My prayer is that, after listening to the Scott Hahn video above, you'll be hungry for the Eucharist that you can receive tomorrow.
God, thanks for giving us Your body and blood, which bring us to eternal life.
