He's calling you
Today in Mark 2:13-3:6 in the One Year Bible, we read about Jesus calling Levi to follow Him. Levi was sitting in his tax collector booth. Tax collectors were hated and were notorious sinners, usually collecting money for themselves as well as taxes for the Roman Empire. And here Levi sat, engaging in activity that was hated and probably sinful.
But Jesus reached into his life and called him to follow Him. He saved him from his sins, and he made him into a saint. Now he's in the Bible. God totally transformed his life.
He's calling you, today, too. Maybe you're already a follower of Jesus. He's still calling you to follow Him into what He has for you today. He's calling you out of any sins that you might have fallen into (and who doesn't?). He's calling you out of the life you were in before, and into the life He has for you, a life in which you will one day become a saint.
What do you say?
God, thanks for calling us to follow You. Help us to leave our sins behind and become who You created us to be.
