doing a great job
Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Matthew 24:29-51. Jesus is telling us about the end of time, and how some will have done a good job and will be rewarded, while others will be cast out into the darkness where people weep and gnash their teeth.
What do you think He'll say to you? Do you think you've done a good job? If you do, that's great. You are truly blessed.
If you wonder, though, like I do, whether you've done so hot a job, or whether you could have done alot more than you have... if you don't expect Him to say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant," but rather, "Well, it wasn't pretty, but you made it," then you might feel some anxiety about what you'll hear on the judgment day.
Fortunately, there's still time to make a change. And the best way to begin making that change is to pray. Ask Him to make your life one that pleases Him, and deserves His praise at the end of your life. He will answer that prayer, and you'll be well on your way.
God, thanks for teaching us about the end of time, so we can get things right now.
