Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Matthew 12:46-13:23. Jesus is talking about those who are able to follow Him, and those who can't. He says that some have ears that can hear His message, but others are unable to understand what it means.
I think all of us are somewhere on that spectrum. We all WANT to understand what He's saying, but some of His teachings are difficult to understand, right? So I think it's important for all of us to develop our eyes and ears to be able to see and hear what He's teaching us.
How can we do that? Well, the most important answer is to ask for it. If you want to have better eyes and ears, ask Him to heal your eyes and ears so you can understand His message. Because He gives you a new one every day. And if we're listening, we'll get it.
But another thing we can do is train our ears to recognize His voice. He says His sheep hear His voice and know that it's Him. But there are alot of spirits speaking to us today, and it's important for us to learn which ones to listen to. So spending time reading the Bible is a great way to learn to train your ear to hear what He DOES sound like, so that when you hear other things, you know if it's Him or not.
God, thank You for giving us a new message every day. Help us learn to hear it.
