hang on
Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Revelation 3:7-22. Jesus tells the church in Philadelphia that if they hang on, and endure until the end, they will receive some pretty amazing rewards. God's name and Jesus's name will be written on them. I don't think that means He's going to take a Sharpie to our foreheads, but that He will mark us indelibly as one of His own. And then He talks about the coming kingdom - the New Jerusalem that will come down, where we will live forever. We know from other places in the Bible that there will be no need for a sun there, because He will be our illumination.
So hang in there! Life is hard sometimes. But God knows we're persevering. He's giving us strength to make it, day by day. And when we hang on until the end - well, the reward will blow your mind.
God, thanks for helping us endure. And we can't begin to thank You for the reward we eagerly anticipate.
