Today in the One Year Bible, we read from 2 John 2:18-3:6. John says that it's important for us to remain in fellowship with Jesus so that when the time comes for us to meet Him, we can approach Him confidently and not be ashamed.
So how do we remain in fellowship with Him? Through prayer, of course. And "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves" as Hebrews tells us, but going to church and meeting Him there. Reading His words to us, in the Bible. And serving Him by loving others, doing good in the world. These things keep us close to Him so we can come to Him with confidence on that great day.
God, please help us to stay close to You.
