what we aim for
Today in the One Year Bible, we read from Ephesians 4:1-16. Paul tells us how we should be.
He says we should be humble and patient, loving and gentle. Do you find yourself acting like this? If you're anything like me, you have good days and bad ones. Sometimes you're more patient than others. You are kind one moment and calling someone an idiot in traffic the next.
But this is our goal. We are to become MORE of these things every day. We should become MORE patient every day. More humble. Kinder. Gentler. And above all, more loving.
If you struggle with one or all of these, ask for help. He WILL help you. This is His desire for you - to become more of these things. So if you ask Him to make you more of them, He will for sure do what you've asked. That's a big part of what prayer means - learning to ask for the things He wants to give us... to cooperate in His making us more like Him.
God, thank You for showing us the goal. Please help us get a little better each day.
