who would have predicted?

Today we read from Acts 7:51-8:13 in the One Year Bible. We read about Paul assisting in killing Stephen, the first martyr. And then Paul goes on a rampage, pulling people out of their homes and killing them for being Christians. Who would have predicted what was next?

Of course, we know that what came next was Paul was visited by Jesus Himself. Jesus asked Paul why he was persecuting Him. And Paul was converted to Christianity.

He then went all over the known world, spreading the truth of the gospel.

Who would have guessed your life, either? We all know that we started out as sinners. We are all guilty, and on our own, we would all end up in a worse place than Paul was. But Jesus comes into our lives, too. He changes us, and converts us to be more like Him, and more like Paul. We are then given the opportunity to go into all of our known world and tell everyone the good news of what He's done for us.

Let's be as diligent as Paul was, and spread His love to everyone.

God, thank You for specializing in changing sinners into saints.
