What God Called You to Do: One Year Bible Reading for May 14

 Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

1 Samuel 15:1-16:23
John 8:1-20
Psalm 110:1-7
Proverbs 15:8-10

Let's look at Samuel. In the first verse, Samuel says he was sent by God to anoint Saul king over Israel. God sent him. He knew that God wanted him to do it. That's pretty cool, right?

Did you know that there are things God is calling YOU to do, too? I can even tell you what some of them are: He is calling you to pray every day. He is calling you to grow closer in your relationship to Him. He is calling you to love everyone in your life - especially your enemies! He is calling you to become holy - to, in fact, become a saint!

He's also calling YOU in particular to do some things, and I don't know what they are. But if you ask Him, He'll show you.

God, thanks for calling all of us to do things, and enabling us to do them.
