The Light Has Come: One Year Bible Reading for May 3

Today we read these verses from the One Year Bible:

Judges 17:1-18:31
John 3:1-21
Psalm 104:1-23
Proverbs 14:20-21

Let's look at John. This is one of the most famous passages from the entire Bible. God loved the world SO MUCH that He sent us His only Son. Whoever believes in His Son (and therefore does what He says) will be saved. Jesus didn't come to condemn the world, but to save it. The light has come, and the world prefers the darkness. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light.

There is so much good happening in the world RIGHT NOW. Roe v Wade is tottering on the edge of being overthrown. Elon Musk just bought Twitter, giving free speech back to everyone. The forces of darkness are being pushed back, and light is shining brightly. This is making those who hate the light very angry, and they're going to fight back. Be ready.

But in the meantime, let's rejoice that the light is shining and driving back the darkness.

God, thanks for the light, which we know will prevail in the end.
