Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:
1 Samuel 22:1-23:29
John 10:1-21
Psalm 115:1-18
Proverbs 15:18-19
Let's look at Samuel. We read about David as an outcast. But all of the other outcasts started flocking to him, and he became their leader. He was a natural born leader and even when he was run out of Israel and joined the Philistines, he became a leader among them, too.
Some people are gifted to be leaders. Others are gifted to be able to play basketball. I fall into the first group, but not the second one. In fact, I once had a dream that I was on a basketball team that traveled the country playing basketball. Even in that dream, I couldn't shoot a hoop. That's how bad I am at basketball.
But God has given YOU a talent, too. You probably already know what it is, but if not, ask Him to show you. One way He shows you is through the comments of people in your life. If someone says, "You're such a good listener!" that's one of your talents. If they say, "You're so good with kids!", that's one of your talents.
Now find how you can use your talent to serve God. If you need help, ask Him to show you. You KNOW He'll answer yes to that prayer - He wants you to use the gifts He's given you to do His will!
God, thanks for giving us gifts and showing us how to use them.
