Totally Committed: One Year Bible Reading for April 15

 Today we read these verses in the One Year Bible:

Joshua 11:1-12:24
Luke 17:11-37
Psalm 84:1-12
Proverbs 13:5-6

Let's look at Joshua. Seems strange to read about the people of Israel killing every man, woman, and child in the towns where they conquered. And those aren't ethics that we want to apply directly to our lives today. HOWEVER, it does teach us that God calls us to total commitment.

When God calls you to follow Him, He means with all you've got. No holding back. That's a lesson we can learn from Joshua. If they held back and didn't do exactly what He told them to, it would come back to bite them in the end.

Same with us. He calls us to give Him everything. Anything you hold back, you will later regret.

So let's totally commit ourselves and everything in our lives to Jesus.

God, thanks for teaching us that total commitment brings us the greatest joy.
