Today we read from these verses in the One Year Bible:

Let's look at Luke 2. This is one of my favorite stories from the Bible. Joseph and Mary LOSE JESUS!! If you ever feel like you've dropped the ball as a parent, remind yourself that Mary, even though sinless, lost Jesus for three days!
But then let's move forward. When they found Him, He was in the Temple. Of course He was - that's where we can find Him today if we lose Him - in church. But seriously.... if I had a time machine, I would go back to this moment and just sit and listen to Jesus as a child in the Temple, asking questions that no one could even understand let alone answer.
Do you find yourself separated from Him today? You'll find Him where Mary and Joseph found Him - in church. He's there waiting for you, and He's got some great questions.
God, thanks for showing us where to find Jesus when we lose Him.
