God Reminds us that Time Flies: One Year Bible Reading for February 22

 Today in the One Year Bible, we read from the following passages:

Leviticus 13:1-59
Mark 6:1-29
Psalm 39:1-13
Proverbs 10:10

And let's look at Psalm 39. First, we are given the reminder to hold our tongue. And that's great wisdom. How much trouble in your life would you avoid by not saying things? A little silence goes a long way.

But then it goes on to the Psalmist asking God to remind him that life is short. Even the most secure of us will die soon. Our lives fly by, and they go faster as we get older. Are you making the most of the time you've got? Have you loved your loved ones today? Have you reached out to those in need in your neighborhood? Have you forgiven those who hurt you?

Time is running out.

God, thanks for reminding us not to put things off until they're too late.
